Dell Keyboard not working properly.

I have a Dell Inspiron 320 Desktop PC running Windows11 Home edition. The keyboard is a DELL KB216P USB keyboard. At the point of entering my PIN the numeric keypad works. As soon as Windows starts, the numeric keypad stops responding with number outputs. The second function such as down arrow still function. It is as though the NumLock keypress is not recognised although the LED for the function illuminates. Windows 11 has blocked me from trying other keyboard drivers, reporting the HID compliant keyboard is the best driver. Selecting HID compliant input device as the driver stops it working completely.

Fn+NumLock gives no effect except to illuminate the NumLock LED.

Fn+ number keypress produces no effect.

As I wrote, the keypad works before Windows 11 starts but stops as soon as I log on to Windows.

I have tried a few different Dell keyboards and they are all the same.

Researching this on Windows and Dell support I can see that this has been a problem for some time without resolution.

    Hi ,

I am Ivan, I will help you with this.

Test with Num-lock activated on the keyboard and using the FN+ numeric key and check if it works.

Also check if the keyboard layout is English

Do you have and use Dell Support Assist?

When I use the Number keys for entering information into Quicken or other apps, I must have Num Lock turned on.

If you are still having problems, contact Dell Support.
