How to Get Bedrock Edition on PC After Purchasing Java Edition?

Hello Minecraft Community,

I've been a long-time player of Minecraft Java Edition on my PC. Recently, I've been interested in joining a realm on the Bedrock edition. According to the information I found on the official Minecraft website, players who have purchased the Java Edition are entitled to get the Bedrock edition at no additional cost. However, I'm facing an issue that seems to contradict this.

Despite numerous attempts, I can't figure out how to get the Bedrock edition onto my launcher. This leaves me perplexed about how to play Bedrock on PC, despite owning the Java Edition. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the launcher using the Windows 10/11 download link, but there's been no change.

When checking my account on the Minecraft Servers website, it shows that I own every version of Minecraft except for Bedrock. This is quite frustrating, as I'm trying to avoid paying an additional $40 for the deluxe version (which includes both Java & Bedrock) when I believe I've already paid for it. Moreover, I do have Bedrock on my Xbox account, but attempts to download it onto my PC via the Xbox store were unsuccessful.

Has anyone else encountered this issue or knows how to get Bedrock edition on PC after purchasing the Java edition? Any guidance or tips on resolving this would be immensely appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hey Judy!

Nice to meet you! I'm Darhyl, an Independent Advisor. I'm sorry you are experiencing this on Minecraft.

I understand that you have already reinstalled the Minecraft launcher yet the issue persists. That is also correct that you should be eligible for a Bedrock Edition since you have a Java edition already according to the official Minecraft website: https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/java---...

"All players that have either Java Edition or Bedrock Edition will receive the edition they do not currently own for free, right in the Minecraft Launcher. So if you own Java, you’ll get Bedrock – and vice versa."

According to Independent Advisor Lucas Lauer: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/...

"I would suggest you to uninstall your current launcher. Then, go to the Microsoft Store and get the Bundle (Minecraft Java + Minecraft for Windows or Minecraft Java and Bedrock). It will be available for you for free and it will install the launcher with the two Minecraft versions for you."

If it doesn't work, I highly recommend you reach out to Mojang Support for further assistance as they have the tools and resources to properly investigate this:
