Roblox freezes accompanied by drops in CPU and GPU usage

Hey, so as the title mentions, Roblox freezes for about 2 seconds at a time, in pairs of freezes, the second following about a quarter of a second after the first. Oddly, resource usage actually goes down during this time, and is nowhere near peak (while running, cpu below 50%, gpu below 30%). Roblox CPU and GPU usage both crash to near zero during this period, and ping to game servers spikes to 2000ms, about the same as the duration of the screen freeze.

I've reinstalled Roblox several times, both through their website and the Microsoft Store, to no avail. This issue has persisted through multiple driver updates, first appearing some time around WHQL 537.34. Rolling back to an even earlier driver version to test if that fixes it is not something I can do, but I strongly doubt it's a driver issue, as it would've been more broadly reported and patched by Nvidia (I'd hope?).

It may be possible to be a memory issue, as my computer experiences many issues when it reaches 33gb of memory usage. I'm not quite sure why 33, but that makes it unlikely that two of my four sticks are malfunctioning, since a) my computer likely wouldn't pass POST and b) it ought to fail sooner than that even if it did. Pagefile is located on a largely empty 4tb NVME, so there shouldn't be any issue with the pagefile (or hiberfile, which also has space to expand) being on a full disk.

Any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated, as I've largely exhausted my own knowledge.

Thanks, and Happy New Year!

PC components, if it helps:

CPU: Intel i7-12700k, clocked to 5ghz

GPU: Gigabyte Windforce 2070 Super (3x OC variant), max clock 1950mhz
Memory: 4x16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL ddr4, clocked to 3400mhz (rated for 3600mhz)

Motherboard: Asus Z690-A Gaming Wifi D4

Storage: Pagefile on Teamgroup 4tb NVME gen3, hiberfile on Samsung 980 EVO 1tb gen4

Windows: Currently Win11 22H2 build 22621.2861, issue was present on prior builds as well.

Sorry for the long delay in response.

I know why my pagefile is so large, it's not really a huge issue. I set it to automatic and it's now ~175gb, the issue still happens. Any further ideas? Reinstalling hasn't done much and it's most likely not a driver issue.

The game does not require that much memory, set your Virtual Memory to automatically managed by Windows, do not set a specific amount, then check if that resolves the problem.

memtest86 is preloaded onto my motherboard, it passed that when I ran it from bios

I noticed that my pagefile was full (taking up 100gb, which is odd in itself), so I allocated 260gb for it, but the issue happened again today when pagefile was only 16gb, so it seems to have no correlation

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you have tried installing a couple of slightly older versions of the graphics drivers and that has not solved the problem, the best option is to download the widely available free utility MemTest86, then run a full 4 pass scan with that to test your RAM for physical errors
