Brand new laptop, Brand new Windows 11 (Home) Installation: I plug in an external drive (that works fine on old laptop) and I get an error that the "location is unavailable incorrect function." (A different USB drive works fine on both old and new machines.)

Anyone?

    Hi ,

Open the command prompt (admin) then run: chkdsk D: /f /r /x

Wait for the process to finish after the process finishes run the command Sfc /scannow and wait for the process to finish and restart the computer disconnect usb flash driver and connect on the back of your computer.

    It says exactly:

    Location is not available

    D:\ is not accessible.

    Incorrect function.

    Nothing else.
