Hi Franc, the CryptBasedll is a Windows-based file and the in-place upgrade will repair it in the process, in addition, it is not recommended to remove it as it might harm the system files, in addition, if you want to remove it kindly follow the steps below:

Method 1. Login to Safemode and delete the file or application.
Press the Windows + R key, input msconfig in the Windows RUN window, and hit Enter to open the System Configuration utility.
click the Boot tab. Under Boot options, check Safe Boot then click Network and Hit OK.
Once you log in to Safemode delete the file.
Once you have deleted it to go back to normal mode, just repeat the process and uncheck Safe Boot.
If you cannot delete it, kindly open CMD as admin then copy, paste, and enter the command below:
del /f cryptbase.dll
