A game I was playing randomly lost connection on my PC I was playing on so I closed it and opened my browser and that also wouldn’t connect but I also had another game open in the background which required a constant internet connection which was still working until I closed it and tried to open it again. Everything else I tried to open would not connect even though in the bottom right it said I was connected to the internet. I restarted my Pc and it started working again. But later happened again but I was in voice chat with a friend which stayed connected. What could be causing something like this and is there any fix I can try for it. Thanks.

    HI, Kal D

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

It seems like you're experiencing intermittent connectivity issues on your PC. There could be several potential causes for this problem, and here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check your network hardware: Ensure that all cables are securely connected to your modem/router. If you're using Wi-Fi, try resetting your router or moving closer to it to see if that improves the connection stability.

    2. Update network drivers: Outdated or incompatible network drivers can cause connectivity problems. Visit the manufacturer's website for your network adapter and download the latest drivers for your operating system.

    3. Reset Network.

    • Search for CMD, open and find the command prompt (, run in administrator) mode
    • In the command box that pops up, enter the following commands (after each line is completed, enter the next one)
      ipconfig /release

      ipconfig /renew

      ipconfig /flushdns

      ipconfig /registerdns

      netsh int ip reset

      netsh winsock reset

      netsh winhttp reset proxy

    • Restart the computer to see if the problem can be solved.
      1. Reset network settings.
    • Press the windows + R key combination on your keyboard and type inetcpl.cpl to open Internet Options.
    • Click Advanced and check "Use SSL 3.0", "Use TLS 1.0", "Use TLS 1.1", "Use TLS 1.2".
    • Restart the computer after applying the settings to see if the problem can be solved.
      1. Reset Proxy Server Settings.
    • Press windows + R on your keyboard, type inetcpl.cpl and open Internet Options.
    • Click Connections, click LAN Settings, check whether the Proxy Server column is checked. If it is, uncheck it and click OK.
    • Restart your computer after applying the program to see if the problem can be solved.

If there is anything unclear or I can't understand your problem, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards
