Windows 11 - stuck on 10.0.22000

Hello,

I have a computer that originally had Windows 10 Pro, that I upgraded to 11 Pro a while ago. My current version is 10.0.22000, and when I use Windows Update the check for new updates, I'm told that everything is up-to-date, and I thus can't get the latest updates for Windows 11 (I'm specifically interested in the tabs for Windows Explorer).

I do seem to be able to get small incremental updates though.

I've tried to delete the SelfHost key, and to delete the SoftwareDistribution folder, but I still can find any new updates via Windows Update, and my OS version is still Build 22000.

Is there any way you could help me? What kind of information should I provide?

Thanks!

Thanks. I'm trying to run the WIndows Assistant, but encountering other errors. Currently investigating those, and will post new questions if need be.

I'll comment here once I'm able to run it to completion

Being on a very early build and an Insider build you may only be able to get back on the consumer builds (and get updates) using a clean install.

You can first try to update to the latest build via Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com) try the Installation Assistant first. See what it reports.

Failing that you will need to create a boot USB and boot from it. After you boot from USB select Language > Install now > Custom install. At custom install select each partition and Delete. With only unallocated space select Next and follow the onscreen prompts.

The clean install deletes all files so a backup of personal files to external media is essential.

    Thank you for your reply!

I used to be on the Insider Program, but I'm not anymore

And when trying to Join the Program, I can complete all the steps properly, but then nothing happens (even after a restart, I still have the "Join the Windows Insider Program" panel instead of something telling me I'm in).

Everything looks good on the compatibility front as well.

You have an Insider build. Are you still signed up for insider updates on the device?

You may be best asking in the Insider forum, or editing the original post and choosing the insider forum.

Being so far behind I suspect the answer will be to clean install the latest Insider build available via the ISO image.

Does your current hardware meet the supported spec for Windows 11.

Use GitHub - rcmaehl/WhyNotWin11: Detection Script to help identify why your PC is not Windows 11 Release Ready. Now Supporting Update Checks! and post a screenshot of the result.
