Tried all of these. Still pausing. Could it have something to do with the file or folder properties? Insane they can load W11 to your computer without you knowing and add all their adds and popups but cannot get File Explorer or Outlook Search to work?
Indexing is paused, tried all possible ways of getting it work but just does not Index and hence not able to search my Emails

2024-04-01T22:32:33+00:00 I think MS has no clue about this one, as with many other issues. Maybe the Search indexer is trying to save the planet by reducing it's carbon footprint.
I have a brand new Surface Pro 9 doing the same thing. Nothing in any forum post seems to fix it.

2024-01-25T13:23:19+00:00 Hi,
Thank you for your response. Pls find my answers to your below points,
- Settings > Search > Searching Windows > Advanced Search Indexer Settings > Troubleshoot > Rebuild - I HAVE ALREADY DONE THIS 2 TO 3 TIMES INSPITE OF THAT IT JUST INDEXES ABOUT 200 FILES AND THEN GOES INTO A PAUSE
- One thing you can try is to repair your Office application. This might fix any corrupted files or settings that are affecting the indexing process. To do this, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Microsoft Office > Change > Repair. Follow the instructions on the screen and restart your computer when done - BEFORE YOU MAIL I DID TRY THE QUICK REPAIR AND AFTER YOUR MAIL I HAVE TRIED THE ONLINE REPAIR. I WILL UPDATE YOU ON THE PROGRESS AFTER DOING THIS
- You can also try to troubleshoot the search and indexing problem using the built-in tool in Windows . This might detect and fix any issues that are preventing the indexing from working properly. To do this, go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Search and Indexing > Run - I HAVE ALREADY DONE THIS A COUPLE OF TIME AND ALSO POSTED THE ERROR MESSAGE THAT I GET IN MY LAST POST. Windows Search service failed AND I HAVE ALSO ATTACHED THE LOG OF THAT IN MY POST. CAN YOU PLS SEE THAT AS WELL
- Another thing you can try is to create a new Outlook profile. This might resolve any conflicts or errors that are caused by your current profile. To do this, go to Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles > Add. Enter a name for the new profile and follow the steps to configure your email account. Then, set the new profile as the default one and restart Outlook - OK WILL TRY THIS IS THE ONLINE REPAIR DOES NOT WORK.
- If none of the above methods work, you can try to reset Windows but keep all your apps and files. This might reinstall the operating system and fix any glitches that are affecting the indexing system. To do this, go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC > Keep my files. Follow the instructions on the screen and wait for the process to complete - THIS WOULD INVOLVE A LOT OF WORK OF TAKING BACKUP AND REINSTALLING ALL THE FILES AGAIN AND ALSO MINE IS A PRE LOADED WINDOWS AND I DONT HAVE THE LICENCE KEY TO THAT. HOW WILL THE WINDOWS LOAD AGAIN???

2024-08-07T02:50:55+00:00 Same thing happened to me today after a MS office update.
Indexing was disabled and upon re-enabling it there were no items indexed.
Got it started and now it is paused with no apparent way to unpause it.
MSFT -- WHAT NOW?
