W11 - The RPC Server is unavailable. I can't log in

W11 - When I boot up my computer, the first one only screen says the rpc server is unavailable on a black back ground with a ok button. Because of this I can't log into my computer. When I click on the OK box, I am rerouted back to the screen where it asks me for my pin. Once I enter my pin I get the same thing. . Can someone please point me in the right direction so that I can fix this? Thank you, Michael.

I'm having the exact same issue and so far there is no solution to fix it. I have absolutely no idea what to do but I'm convinced I need a new laptop now. Nothing works. I can't shut it down or restart it. I've tried researching so many solutions and nothing will work because the keyboard won't do anything. I can't log in to even access the things you need to fix this error. Only thing that it will allow me to do is key in my PIN but then it still will NOT let me log in. I am really upset.

Had this issue today on a client's HP laptop. I got it going again with the following, not sure if will work for you but try to disable Secure Boot then re-enable:

    • Can't log in, RPC server error.
    • Rebooted, disabled Secure Boot in BIOS. Couldn't boot after that though because they had Bitlocker active (and like most people had no idea of bitlocker Key).
    • Rebooted, enabled Secure Boot in BIOS again. Then surprisingly I could log in OK.
    • Removed HP Wolf Security - not sure if this was the culprit but I suspect it was, based on other info from Google searches (seems to be a common issue on HP machines).
    • Created a restore point, rebooted a couple times and it was OK again.

    So far so good! :-)

    Hello Mic

    My name is Dayarys.

Go to safe mode with networking to sign in with your Microsoft account password to reset the pin:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/sta...

Sign-in to Windows 10 using an alternate credential.

Open Settings, select Accounts > Sign-in options.

Select PIN (Windows Hello) > I forgot my PIN and follow the instructions.

If this step doesn't work try to active the built administrator:

Hold down the Shift key (the one with the up arrow) as you restart your computer.

The computer will immediately restart and a screen with different options will appear.

Click the different options that appear on the screen in this order until you reach "Command Prompt": "Troubleshoot" -- "Advanced Options" -- "Command Prompt"

    Once the console is displayed,

    Type the following command

    net user Administrator /active:yes

    and press Enter

Then type exit and restart your computer,

In the login screen, a user called Administrator should appear, by default, it comes without a password.

    Sincerely,

    Dayarys
