Seagate external hard drive not showing in windows explorer

So I recently got a new laptop

I have a Seagate external hard drive that I used to use on my other computer, however that computer has been broken for 1 year (maybe more). So I haven't used the hard drive in a while, and it hasn't been tested since then.

When I plug it into this new laptop, the expansion lights up to let me know that it's on, and when I go to devices and printers on the computer it does show up as "expansion desk". But it isn't visible in the windows explorer, so I can't access any of my files or save anything new to the hard drive.

It's obviously working as the light is coming on and the laptop is recognising that it's plugged in, I just can't figure out how to access it.

The laptop is HP Omen I5-7300HQ, Windows 10

Expansion is Seagate SRD00F2 4TB

Any help would be much appreciated!

If the drive will not show up in Windows, there will be no software solution to fix that drive.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Right click your Start Button and open Disk Management.

Expand the bottom pane so all drives are visible in that pane.

Please provide a screenshot of that window.

Hi, thank you for replying but unfortunately it won't work

It just says "connecting to virtual disk service"?

I've restarted the computer and it hasn't helped

Okay, thank you so much for the help :)
There's no way to fix the drive or recover my files?

Yes it loaded straight away when I disconnected the hard drive, this is what it showed

Would this mean that the hard drive is broken?
