If you download the trial version of Macrium Reflect, it has a cloning option and it will guide you through the process, it is a very simple application to use and very reliable at creating an exact copy on the new drive, including all data and partitions.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

You would first need to backup all your personal files, and after installing Windows on the SSD, you would need to re-install all your software.

    Click this link:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

to download the Media Creation Tool (Click on Download Tool Now), with that you can download the latest Windows 10 ISO (Select Create Installation Media for Another PC), you can create a bootable USB flash drive (min 8GB) using that tool

When you have the USB created, swap out the HDD for the SSD.

Then, insert the USB into your Dell laptop and start it, repeatedly press the F12 key on the Dell logo to bring up the temp boot menu and choose to boot from the USB

During the Windows installation process skip the steps which ask for a product key and select the option 'I am Reinstalling Windows 10 on this PC'.

Are you able to connect the new SSD and the old drive to your system at the same time?

If you can, you could clone the old drive onto the new drive using a utility like the trial version of Macrium Reflect, that would create an exact copy of Windows, all your settings, personal files and software on the new SSD.
