Something is filling my disk C overnight.

Okay so, I have noticed it like a week ago, but according to me being student of architecture where our programs take like 100GB I thought that it's nothing untill I saw a masive jump... Like MASSIVE.

Yesterday I cleared up like 20 GB so i ended up with 47 GB free storage, but when I started the computer today it said only 27GB free which obviously gave me a heart attack.

I am suspecting a possible virus bc of Python being on without having an actual Python downloaded (but I had it installed in past). Made check up with ESET and Malwarebytes but they have found nothing. (plus now trying to check it up with windows program against malicious programs/files)

I haven't notice eating space on permanent disk D so it's just in C. (disk D should be SSD disk as well, but I have just games there)

Is there any possible way to get rid of it other than "factory reset"?

Well main question is this a virus? Or am I just panicking over nothing?

Glad to help, that was the cause of your space being taken overnight.

The Hibernation file is using 64GB of your drive space, it would best to disable that.

Open Command Prompt by right clicking its icon and select 'Run as Administrator'

Run this command and press Enter.

powercfg -h off

Restart your PC when that command completes to apply the change.

Then check your free space on that drive.

Do you use Hibernation (not sleep) on your PC?

Please expand the section shown below and provide another screenshot of what TreeSize finds in there.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Click the link below to download a small free utility named Treesize.

https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free

Very Important - to run TreeSize, you must right click its icon and choose Run as Administrator.

Please provide a screenshot of that drive in that TreeSize utility, so I can see your hard drive and work out where that space is being used and if there is an underlying problem.
