Go to Start>Settings>Network and Internet>Wi-Fi>Manage known networks, remove/forget all existing WiFi network profiles, then reconnect to the hotspot by correctly re-entering the wi-fi password set on your phone.

If it still doesn't work, run the troubleshooter and report the Windows message or post a screenshot

I have tried this and the troubleshooter still says it cannot identify the problem.

Also to clarify I am trying to connect to my home wifi from the router and was just stating that my pc would still allow me to connect to other connections such as my phones hotspot.

I need to see the Windows IP configuration when you connect to the router, so run the command and post the result.

    Now I understand.

Connect to your home network's WiFi, open CMD and type ipconfig /all and then press enter. Copy everything and post the result.
