Hello,

I am facing a problem with C disk. It has not enough space for my applications and I want to get some GB from D partition which it contains Page files and it is a Basic Data Partition. I have read many articles on the internet for this subject. A possible solution is to shrink the D partition and extend the C. Although, the shrink option is grayed out as it is shown in the screenshot. Is there another solution to get more space in the C partition?

    Hi,

I'm Rodrigo and I'll help you.

With a third-party application, you will be able to shrink D: and expand C: easily.

There are many free options but I recommend you to use AOMEI Partition Assistant. Download it here:

After downloading and installing it, open the application, you will see your disk structure just like in Disk Management, right-click D: > Resize/Move Partition

Drag from the left edge to shrink D: and leave space to expand C:.

Right-click C: > Resize/Move Partition Drag from the right edge to expand C:.

After completing the operations, select "Apply" on the top left corner to apply the changes.

Given D is next to empty except for the page file, consider replacing it. Disable the page file and reboot. Delete D and extend C. Create a new volume on the remaining space.
