I have elected to do a total clean reset of my laptop opewrating on Windows 10. All seemed to be going well. However the machine seems to have stuck on 'Restarting' for some considerable time/ How long should it take?

A Windows reset would usually complete in 1 - 2 hours, how long has it been stuck at the 'Restarting' screen?
if that is stuck for more than 30 minutes, you have no other option, press and hold the power button on the case of your PC for 5 - 10 seconds to perform as hard shut down, then wait a few seconds and start your PC again, the reset should then either continue to completion or roll back.
OK I'll do what I said I'd do and ignore it for an hour or two!

It is normal for the percentage to freeze on a low percentage and then it should suddenly jump t s much higher percentage, now that the reset has started, it is best to let that continue, it will either continue to completion, or it will fail and roll back.
