How can I create a portable Hyper-V VM?

I have a Hyper-V virtual machine (VM) that I only use a couple of times per year. However, sometimes I need to access it on a different computer. Is there a way to create a VM on a USB drive so I can use it anywhere as long as a Hyper-V is installed?

Hi, Igor. I'm Robinson, and I’m happy to help you today.

You will need to create the VM on your computer normally and then export the VM to the external drive. Then when you need to the VM on another computer you can import it, you just need to make sure to select the option "Register in place" when will import the VM, this option will make the VM run from the external drive.

You can see more information at this link.

Thank you for responding. I believe it will suit my needs. I have a question though - is it possible to import on multiple computers? I only use it a few times a year, and I want to know if I need to export it every time I finish my work, or if the same export will work every time.
