sorting options in file explorer are gone

Found an answer in another forum, and as I suspected, it's something Microsoft decided to take from us. God forbid we'f have any sort of control over our systems' appearance and function. Here's the excerpt for anyone else confused by this idiotic change.

That's another feature that has been dropped with the latest Explorer in Windows 11. You can post a complaint about that via Feedback Hub. I'm sure others have, but more the better.

The workaround is to change to Details view, where you still get "More" by clicking in the column heading area, add the additional property, and then change back to whatever view you were in. The additional property will now be in the Sort by list.

I found out how to do it.

Hover over Group By, and click More.

Then it'll open up the OG list.

ffs, all microsoft has done in the past few years is make windows worse and worse.
let me guess, next year they'll offer that basic functionality as a paid app int he microsoft store?

Either one. They both have the same options and are missing the "More Options" option. I'm referring to the r-click context option "Sort By." Used to be able to select more sorting options that gave you over twenty or more options to sort by like "Date Created, Date Modified, Date Accessed, etc." Where did those options go?

Restoring defaults did nothing.

Trouble is I HATE the "group by" I have only ever used the heading and sort function.

Really miss this!
