I forget my laptop password how can I get it?

I have forgotten my laptop password. How can I retrieve it?

Were you signed in with a Microsoft account or a local account? You can usually reset your account password on the login screen.

Generally, after you have entered your password incorrectly several times, a "Forgot password" pop-up will appear below the password entry box and you can click it to reset your password.
