    Hi,

If I buy a device that comes with Windows Home and I buy the upgrade to Windows Pro and then later on that device gets replaced due to a warranty claim. Is it possible to transfer the upgraded Windows version to the replacement device? Are upgrades considered retail versions?

    Thanks,

    Diogo Silva

Hi Avinash! My name is David. I am a user of Microsoft products like you, and it is a pleasure to greet you.

The Windows 11 Pro license is designed for use on a single device. Once you activate Windows 11 Pro on a computer, the license is tied to that specific hardware. This means you cannot use the same activation key on multiple devices simultaneously. If you need to transfer your Windows 11 Pro license to another device, it's generally possible if the license is a retail version and not OEM, but this transfer can typically only be done to one device at a time.

Please note that this information is based on standard licensing practices for Windows operating systems and can vary depending on specific agreements or types of licenses purchased (such as volume licensing for businesses).

Let me know if the shared information has been helpful. Regards.
