Okay I just bought Grand Theft Auto V PC from Steam, but my xbox one controller just doesn't work on gta v whenever I load up the game I can't move, open the menu or anything on the game. I hit the xbox button and it pulls up the guide and it responds perfectly but as soon as I go to the game it does nothing. I have searched EVERYWHERE for an answer and I can't find one.
Yes I have gone to the official xbox wireless controller page to try and find and answer and I haven't found one.
No my controller doesn't have an update.
Yes I have fully rebooted my PC a million times.
YES I checked Steam and nothing.
It doesn't happen for any other game except gta v.

I'm using the Xbox core wireless gaming controller and I can do everything within gta 5 online EXCEPT I cannot jump..... at all
A works just fine for everything else except jump
Gta 5 is run through Rockstar not steam.... and works fine with every other game

It seems your Controller needs to be configured on Steam
In Steam, hit Steam, then Settings, Controller, and then open General Controller Settings.
This will open a window, use it window to activate the controller by checking the box next to Xbox Configuration Support
