Below is a screenshot of one of my saved Word docs. On the right side you will see my name and the date the left side was formatted.

So how do I delete the column on the right side of this Word Doc?

Thanks, Mark

Hi MARK! My name is David. I am a user of Microsoft products like you, and it is a pleasure to greet you.

I understand that you want to remove the track changes view from your Word document. If so, please follow these steps:

    • In your Word document, go to the Review tab and hover over the Tracking section.
    • In the Tracking section, uncheck the Reviewing Pane and Track Changes checkboxes.
    • Finally, since the Track Changes option may have been active, you will need to accept or reject the suggested changes.
    • To do this, on the same Review tab, go to the Changes section and click the Accept button to accept changes. If you have been the only person working on the document, it should not affect its content. Otherwise, you can also reject changes using the Reject button located just to the right of the Accept button.

Once all changes have been accepted or rejected, these change indicators should disappear, and by deactivating the Track Changes option, you should not encounter the issue again.

Let me know if the provided information has been helpful. Regards.

    Hi David!

Thanks for the reply and the instructions! It worked, mostly. The wording is now gone but there is still a vertical line on the right half of the page that you can see on my new screenshot. Sp how do I get rid of that too?

I am leaving now but will be back tomorrow.

    Thanks again,

    Mark
