Since the OP lacks the old password, he can't reset to a new one using your method. I have same problem - I know and use my PIN, but don't have the old current password.

Pretty much the title. so i can login to my pc using the pin but cant change the password. i know my previous password though. I dont have a reset disk or any security questions defined. Im using windows 11 latest version. How can i change my password

Can you go to Settings > Accounts > Your Info, and make sure your account is indeed a local account, not a Microsoft account (email address format)? Also, on t his page, does it say you are the administrator type of user?
If it is a Microsoft account, you need to change your account by going to https://account.microsoft.com and use the forgot password option to change.
If it is a local account, and if it is also admin type, hold down windows + r keys, type in netplwiz and hit enter, then you can select your user, and click on reset password to reset it.
