"nvidia high definition audio driver not plugged in" I have tried every solution

I have tried

  • updating all display and audio drivers
  • deleting sound cards then restarting the pc
  • using the Windows Troubleshooter
  • Unplugging the HDMI
  • set up digital audio in Nvidia Control Panel

Nothing has worked. Here is an image of the Sound Control Panel where Nvidia Output is greyed out and there is no option to enable it.

Here is an image of Nvidia Properties and it says enabled.

Checking into the BIOS, there is no option for Onboard Device Configuration, or I could have maybe fixed the issue from there.

What are your suggestions?

    Right,

I've been trying to fix this issue for the last 4 months also.

I've had a breakthrough this evening combing through the drivers.

Hit Windows + R / right click windows --> run

    type devmgmt.msc

Find the drop down for "system devices"

Find the one called Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) OED - it'll probably have an icon on the left with a yellow triangle.

    Right Click - update driver.

Fixed the sound issue for me.

After trying lots of options from various sources... Finally thought to look at this...

BIOS settings on boot up -

    Integrated peripherals -

Enabled sound! Had no idea it had been turned off!

Fixed the audio outputs perfectly. Hope it works for someone else

So what you're saying is the Nvidia High Def Audio (NHDA) will only work if I'm connected to a second monitor via HDMI cable? That is odd because the laptop was advertising NHDA..

    Hi, ShCa,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue.

Please provide some more details to help to identify what is causing this problem. Are you using a laptop or a desktop? Which is the full model of your computer/laptop or motherboard and graphics card?

Also, attach a screenshot of the System Information Page:

1-Right-click on Start then click on Run

2-Type: msinfo32 and click on Ok

And a screenshot of the version of the driver installed:

1-Right-click on Start then click on Device Manager

2-Click to expand the Display adapters

3-Right-click on the Graphics driver and click on properties

4-Take a screenshot of the General and Driver tab
