Can't access my Windows PC

Hello, I previously asked about an issue where I couldn't access my account due to changing my mobo , creating a security issue. Can't reset my pin due to not having access to the internet. I have made some progress but still am unable to access the internet or the account. I found a github post about injecting drivers into windows and I believe I did it successfully however none of my connections show up. I have also found a YT tutorial on changing passwordless value from 2 to 0 giving me access to signing in with password. However, I don't believe I set up a password (just a pin) and any password I believe I would have entered is not correct. Have tried enabling admin account with command prompt with no success.

Hi, Dylan. I'm Robinson, and I’m happy to help you today.

The password for your user profile is the same password that you use to access your Microsoft account. Renaming the NGC folder using the command prompt should remove all PIN settings and fix the problem.

1-Restart your computer while holding the SHIFT button

2-The Advanced Startup menu will open on the boot.

    3-Go to Troubleshoot.

4-Now, go to Advanced Options >Command prompt

5-Run this command to take ownership of the folder:

    icacls C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Ngc /T /Q /C /RESET

6-Run this command to rename the folder:

    Ren C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Ngc Ngc.old

7-When finished close the command prompt then click to return to the first screen

8-Click to continue to normal boot

9-Then you should be able to sign in on Windows using your Microsoft account password.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be glad to assist you further.

As you can access the files from your computer using the other drive, you try this procedure.

Step 1: Using the other drive replace "Utilman" with "CMD"

1-Click on Start, search for Command Prompt

2-Right-click on that and select "Run as Administrator"

3-Type these commands and press Enter after each one:

    move E:\windows\system32\utilman.exe E:\

    copy E:\windows\system32\cmd.exe E:\windows\system32\utilman.exe

Step 2: Boot from the drive that you trying to access

1-When you reach the login screen

2-Click on the Wifi in the lower right corner, turn off the Wifi and let your computer connected only with the Ethernet cable

3-Click on the Accessibility button (human icon) in the lower right corner and the Command Prompt will be opened

4-Type these commands and press Enter after each one to reset the network settings:

    netsh winsock reset

    netsh int ip reset

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

    ipconfig /flushdns

5-When finished, run this command to check if your computer is connected to the internet

    ping -4 microsoft.com

6-If you see something like that "Reply from 20.70.246.20: bytes=32 time=357ms TTL=99", this means that your computer is connected to the internet

7-Close the Command Prompt and try sign-in on Windows using your password

I do have another copy of windows running on a separate drive for the time being and if it helps it seems I can access all of the files of the old drive including windows program folders the old copy of windows in which I'm trying to access is located in volume E: and as a note I did modify your instructions to change the name of Ngc with E:\blahblah\blah instead of C:\blahblah\ given that's where the inaccessible copy of windows is located.

I believe I was able to rename the folder (got a folder processed successfully return) however after renaming Ngc I am still unable to type in my old pin or Microsoft password to enter my PC. When I type in my password with windows hello it says we are unable to detect an internet connection please connect to the network try again. When I enter my password in with Microsoft account password it still returns Your device is offline. Please sign in with the last password used on this device. I am unable to connect due to some other issue with the drivers or windows. For whatever reason I am unable to get an Ethernet connection or wifi connection from the windows login screen even after injecting the drivers from a flash drive. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
