Game sometimes not even using 20% of GPU and lagging a lot.

It isn't thermal throttling, my GPU stays at 50-65C. I don't think that this issue is at the games behalf because I didn't have it on Win 10.

I tried every common troubleshooting step like restarting etc.

The game normally sits at 160-200 fps

The issue occurs sometimes and lasts 2-3 seconds or rarely a few minutes.

The FPS drop to 20-30

can't insert the dxdiag file so I will just type my specs out

Laptop model: Gigabyte G5 KF

RTX 4060

i5 12500H

16GB

144hz 3440x1440 (main Monitor)

144hz 1920x1080 (laptop Monitor)

Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Check if your CPU core is active through the task manager in the performance tab, take a screenshot and post it here.

    That's very strange.

    Hi,

I only wanted to clarify that you mixed something up. I never talked about Dead Space and Subnautica is the only game that works out of 20.
My CPU/GPU are never overloaded, they are underloaded (only at 20% power) and thats why the games lag.

I will be reinstalling the drivers now.
    Thanks for the reply

    Hi ,

I am Ivan, I will help you with this.

You are probably suffering from stuttering, does this happen with any game or a specific one?

Check if the external monitor is the main one in the Windows screen settings.

Open the Nvidia control panel, go to the 3D management tab and select High Performance Nvidia Process in the checkbox.

Activate the ultimate performance power plan, open the on command prompt, run the command: powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61 , after running the command above, open the control panel go to the hardware and sounds tab > Power Options power and put additional plan shows and score ultimate performance.

Restart the computer and open the Prompt on command (admin) again and run the command: sfc /scannow , wait for the process to finish and restart the computer again.

Another situation of stuttering and some stuttering coming from some component, depending on the game, this occurs a lot in Cyberpunk 2077.

Hi, thanks for your reply. This happens with a lot of games but now with all of them. For example Subnautica is a pretty graphic intensive game and it takes up 100% of my GPU and runs fine. But some games that ran just fine on my old laptop which was much weaker now run very slow and even on the lowest graphics lag a lot.

My monitor is selected as the main one

    I Selected my main GPU

    Ultimate performance is on

I ran the command and it said that it found a file but it didn't really make a noticable change.

Still thanks a lot for replying
