Unable to connect to internet over VPN.

So, my issue is a bit tricky. I have my work VPN which is required for working on any company project. I was able to connect via it just before the weekend but now it has stopped working. When connected via the said VPN, I am unable to browse through any web browser or open apps like Slack, but the thing is if I am connected to a Google Meet meeting or a Slack huddle before connecting to VPN, I am still able to stay connected to the meet/huddle when connected to VPN, but nothing else works. This is hampering my work so need help at the earliest

If this is the case, ensure that the default gateway setting is empty/unchecked.

1). Search for the and navigate to Control Panel > Network & Internet > Network & Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings.

2). Right-click the VPN connection adapter and then click Properties.

3). Click on the Networking tab.

4). Open Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) by double-clicking on it.

5). Choose Properties > Advanced and go to IP Settings.

6). Uncheck the Use default gateway on the remote network option.

7). Click OK to save changes.

    Hi Ravi,

I cannot change the VPN or its location as the VPN server and the VPN are a company mandate.

    Hey Yashwant,

My name is Ravi, and I am an independent advisor. I am happy to help you. :)

I understand the internet isn't working when you use a VPN.

If you can change the location for the VPN, it most probably will solve the problem because it will change the IP address.

If it doesn't work, using a different VPN is a good idea. Some browsers like Opera has a built-in VPN which works better than an external VPN extension or app.

Feel free to get in touch again if you have any additional questions.

    Cheers,

    Ravi
