Wedge keyboard - change layout from US to UK

I have a Microsoft Wedge keyboard with UK layout.

However when I pair it with any device, the actual layout is US (which does not correspond to the symbols on the actual keyboard, so "#" appears instead of "£" for example).

How can I change the regional layout of the keyboard to UK (as per the actual layout)?

I mostly use this with iphone or ipad as a physical keyboard, where there aren't any obvious system settings to allow me to do this?

Thanks

Nick

    Hi, Nick Rowan

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

To change the keyboard layout from US to UK on your iPhone/iPad, follow these steps:

    • On the Home screen, tap on the Settings app.
    • Scroll down and tap on General -> tap on Keyboard.
    • At the top of the Keyboard section, tap on Keyboards -> Tap on “Add New Keyboard…”
    • Scroll down and tap on “English (U.K.)”. Now, when you use your Microsoft Wedge keyboard with your iPhone or iPad, it should adhere to the UK layout. You might also need to remove the US keyboard to ensure your device doesn’t default to that layout. To do this:
    • Follow the steps above to get to the Keyboards section -> Tap on “Edit” in the top-right corner.
    • Tap on the red minus button next to “English (U.S.)” and then tap on “Delete” -> Tap on “Done” in the top-right corner. This should solve the issue with your keyboard layout not matching the symbols on the keys. If there is anything not clear or I can't understand your problem, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards

    Thank you Martin.

That was helpful, and now resolved. :-)

In fact, I had to go into Settings > Hardware Keyboard and specify the keyboard as "British - PC" (when it was set to simply "British" it still had the keys mapped to a US keyboard for some reason).
