I am trying to factory reset a laptop that was given to me but not wiped. It was given to me by my husband. It used to be his ex girlfriends from many years ago. He doesnt know much about it. It wont let me access the BIOS setup info unless i know that admin password. I have tried the normal way to factory reset but it wont let me. So i downloaded the installation media thing and put it on a flashstick from my other laptop. It is supposed to pop up when the computer turns on but something in the BIOS Setup wont let it. I cant change anything when im in there because i dont have that admin password.

does it give you. Any indication as to - which OS is installed on it
or try this : How do I get administrator, access on my computer
- select Start > Settings > Accounts.
- Under Family & other users. Select the account owner's name (you should see
"**Local account**" below the name), then select Change account type. ... - under Account type. select - Administrator and then select OK
- Sign in with the, new administrator account. Don't know if will ask
