Download the latest audio driver from a laptop or desktop manufacturer's website

Uninstall the existing audio driver completely. Install the new audio driver completely, and restart windows.

Just about three days ago. I recorded a song and released it on YouTube. After doing so, I wanted to record vocals, and that's when I noticed that the microphone websites wouldn't work. Try as I might, they just wouldn't start working. Whenever I'd press "Record", nothing would be recorded. The microphone would hear nothing, even after I turned the microphone volume at 100%.

Thank you for your response. I see, when did the issue started? Prior to the issue, are there any recent changes on your computer? Also, is your mic built-in? In the meantime, kindly try to perform the troubleshooting methods below and check if any of the resolves fixes the issue.

    Method 1: Roll-back driver

    1. Open run box by pressing Windows Key + R and type devmgmt.msc then hit enter
    2. Locate and expand Audio inputs and outputs
    3. Right-click on the mic driver and select Update driver
    4. Select Browse my computer for drivers
    5. Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
    6. Select any older driver from the list and click next
    7. Wait for the process to complete, once completed, restart your computer and check if it resolves your issue.

Method 2: Go to your manufacturer's website

    1. Open run-box by pressing windows key + R, type msinfo32 and hit enter.
    2. Look for your System Model and System Manufacturer, take note of them.
    3. Go to your manufacturer's website and search for your driver using the information that you noted.
    4. Download and install the driver, restart your computer and check if the issue still persists.

Please do let me know how it goes.

    Regards,

    Jerico T.

It's because my microphone just won't work. It's turned on, it just doesn't work. I've tried everything and nothing has worked. Now I just need help with my microphone. I'll try restarting my device but I doubt that it'll work.
