How do I save screenshots to a LOCAL drive, and NOT one drive?????

I have been fighting this for several days, now. I want my screenshots to be saved on a local drive i.e. hard drive, external drive, thumb drive, etc. I have read several explanations on how to do it, but none of them have been successful.

Every explanation I have read says to right-click on the 'screenshots' folder, and select "properties" from the drop-down. So far, so good. When I click "properties" I'm supposed to click on the "locations" tab. But it doesn't show a "locations" tab. It's the same on TWO computers. Both running Win10.

So how do I get around this?? I have been scouring the internet for days trying to find a solution, but I get the same "how-to" descriptions, and they don't work for me. The stopping block is always the same: The "locations" tab does not exist.

It looks like the Gods of Microsoft have decreed: "Thou shall not save screenshots anywhere but One Drive." I'm getting frustrated, and tired of fighting this. Any (successful) help would be deeply appreciated!

    Hi,
I'm Rodrigo and I'll help you.
Right-click the OneDrive icon on the tray area on the taskbar > Settings > Sync and backup. Make sure the option "Save screenshot I capture to OneDrive" is turned off.

I've already done that. It didn't help. Thanks for trying.

As I explained before, I've been instructed to right-click on the 'screenshots' folder, then select "locations" from the drop-down menu to select another location to save to. This image shows what I get. And there is no "locations" tab. I have been fighting this for days.

I just want to save my screenshots to a LOCAL drive, and not that damned One Drive. Seems like it's impossible.

It is turned off exactly as shown but my screenshots are still saving to one drive. Very frustrating.

If the location tab is not showing on the folder properties, you must change the screenshot folder location on the registry.

    Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

On the right side, locate the value {B7BEDE81-DF94-4682-A7D8-57A52620B86F} double click it, and change the path to the folder you want.

    Example:

If you can't find the value, right-click in a blank area on the right side of the window > New > Expandable String value > and name the value

    {B7BEDE81-DF94-4682-A7D8-57A52620B86F}

then, double-click it and change the path.

Restart the computer to apply the changes.

That depends on how you take screenshots. I use the snipping tool, which allows me to save screenshots anywhere I wish.

I usually just hit the "print screen" key.. I've not played with the snipping tool much - it seemed kind of clumsy to use last time I messed with it. I could have done something wrong. I'll have to experiment with it since this issue seems to be unsolvable. Thanks for your input.
