I think I found the answer here:
How do I obtain a replacement windows recovery image (Winre.wim) for Win 10?
I am encountering the 0x80070643 error from my recovery partition not being large enough.
I have already followed the instructions HERE for expanding the size of the recovery partition.
During the last steps of the above instructions, when I use the "reagentc /enable" command to restart WinRE, it fails. It tells me that the Windows Recovery Image was not found.
So I referenced the instructions found HERE and checked the System32/Recovery folder for the "Winre.wim" file and it's not there.
This is a huge headache and completely the fault of Microsoft. To be honest Microsoft should have to connect remotely to everyone's PC that this error occurred and fix it free of charge. This is my mothers laptop and she shouldn't have to pay a service tech to correct mistakes like this. On my own laptop I only update Windows once a year, and for this very reason.
So, don't tell me to pull the image from some other computer, please. I don't have access to and don't feel like to trying to find another computer running the same architecture as this one.
Where can I download the proper image/file that I need? Thanks in advance for any help resolving this issue.
