Hello ! I'm Aymeric, and I'm here to help !

When you talk about the background image, what are you referring to exactly ? The desktop wallpaper or the lock screen image ?

Open your Windows settings, click on Personalization > Background. Make sure you haven't selected the “Windows spotlight” option.

Same for your lock screen : make sure you haven't selected the “Windows spotlight” option, next to the "Personalize your lock screen" section.

Looking forward to your answer !

I don't have anything set for Spotlight, because Spotlight will not work on my computer since Windows 11 replaced Windows 10. I have tried every suggested procedure that has been developed and shared here and on other sites, but to no avail. The Spotlight images still change on my Lock Screen, and unfortunately on my Wallpaper images whether I want the changes or not. I do not have the Bing Wallpaper app on my computer.

I have tried to determine if a "Theme" was inadvertently selected and activated, but so far, I have not found anything. The older "Themes" don't seem to be the problem, as I have deleted some of them, but the deletions changed nothing. However, there were some new "Themes" that were added as part of a major Windows 11 update that took place some months ago, but they don't show up in "Settings"- "Personalization" - "Themes". If I could find (and delete ) them, maybe that would help, as I understand the "Themes" override the individual settings we are discussing. However no matter what I try, I can't locate them in order to delete them.

    Thanks for your reply.

Did you check the “Windows spotlight” setting ? Is it correctly disabled ?

Also, make sure you do not have the “Bing Wallpaper” software installed on your computer. This Microsoft application updates every day your wallpaper with images featured on the Bing homepage.

I'm in the same boat with my brand new laptop. Super disappointing. I've tried everything, thought maybe I downloaded a bad theme or something. I'd appreciate if you could share any solutions if you happen to find any.
