Wifi works but Ethernet doesn't?

I ran an Ethernet line from my router recently. I've been using the wifi to my Windows 11 PC for months with no issues. As soon as I started using the Ethernet line, all apps and websites aren't allowed through except for Google/YouTube. That's the only websites I can access via Ethernet. I've tried disabling the windows defender firewall in every way. I've tried resetting all network settings. I've tried allowing apps through the firewall, none of it is working. I can run speed tests through Google so I know my computer is connected, but no other apps or websites are allowed through.

Do you have another computer that can be connected to that ethernet cable and check if the issue occurs as well?

    Please try the methods below.

**Press Start then search ""Internet Options"

    Select the "Advanced" Tab

Scroll down the list until you see "Use SSL/TLS"

Unselect SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 and 1.1

Select TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 (if available)

    Click Apply then OK

    Restart your computer

    **Turn off Proxy

Open Internet options > Connections > Lan settings

    Turn off "Automatically detect settings"

    Restart your computer

If it is already Turned off, please put a checkmark in "Automatically detect settings"

    Restart your computer

    **Change your network DNS

    Open Control Panel

Select Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center

    Click Change adapter settings

    a. To change the settings for an Ethernet connection, right-click the Ethernet interface and select Properties

    b. To change the settings for a wireless connection, right-click the Wi-Fi interface and select Properties

Under Networking tab, double click TCP/IPv4

Select Use the following DNS server addresses. If there are any IP addresses listed in the Preferred DNS server or Alternate DNS server, write them down for future reference.

Replace those addresses with the IP addresses below

    Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8 and/or 8.8.4.4

    Click Ok

    Restart your computer

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

    Kind regards,

    John DeV

I solved this by searching ”ethernet” in the windows menu. It gave me an option in the controll panel that says ”find and solve promblems with the network card” (translated from swedish) The problem solver did a scan on my network card and that fixed it.

    Hi John,

The weird part is that I was using this wired connection yesterday. Ive tried a different port in the router and rebooted my computer and it won't connect via Ethernet.

Hi, good day! I'm John Dev a Windows user like you and I'll be happy to assist you today. I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

Have you tried connecting the ethernet cable to another port on your router? You may need to contact your ISP to report the issue as they may have a security configuration in place on your router's ethernet ports that needs to be disabled.

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

    Kind regards,

    John DeV
