Error with permissions as admin with program installer

I was trying to install Keepass and when I ran the installer, it gave me an issue and prevented me from continuing further. My image won't upload so here's the message word for word.

"The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\KeePassXC. The installation cannot continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator."

However I'm already administrator and I'm the only administrator AND account on this computer. I tried reinstalling, uninstalling, and running it several times.

    Thank you for your feedback!

I think I misunderstood the issue described earlier.

From the picture, it appears that the installation program does not have permission to add KeePassXC under C: \ ProgramData \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Start Menu \ Programs. It refers to not having access to the C: \ ProgramData \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Start Menu \ Programs folder

You need to check the permissions of the folders in the path step by step

Also, is user an administrator account? The following methods can be used to check

Press win+r, enter the command netplwiz to check if it belongs to the administrator group

Additional suggestions, I'm not sure if there will be other strange permission restrictions. Can I install this PC completely new after buying it back?

Here's the error now that uploading images works.

It shows all permissions enabled for SYSTEM and ADMINISTRATORS as well. The last 2 out of 3 pages have nothing in them.

Sorry I don't have gpedit.msc as I believe it's for pro or other versions of Windows I don't have. I'm on Windows 11 home edition.

Hello, I am a Microsoft user like you, trying to assist you in solving this problem together!

According to your description, it is possible that the administrator privileges are not open. Please try the following:

    1. First, we open the Run on the computer, click on "gpedit. msc", and press Enter to confirm
    2. Then we click to open the security options in Windows Settings/Security Settings/Local Policy in the pop-up window
    3. Then we can find and right-click on "User Account Control: Run All Administrators in Administrator Approval Mode" in the right window, and select "Disabled" to proceed
    4. We can find "Account: Administrator Status" in the right window, right-click on "Account: Administrator Status", and select "Properties".
    5. Check "enabled" and click "OK" to proceed.

Assuming that the user is indeed an administrator account, enter the following command in the cmd window:

    Net localgroup administrators

Confirm that the current login account is displayed in the output

I hope the above suggestions can help you! If the issue cannot be resolved, please click "Reply" to provide feedback on relevant information and pictures

    Thank you for your feedback!

If it is the home version, please use another method:

    1. Press the shortcut key WIN+R, enter: UserAccountControlSettings.exe, and open UAC control

Pull the slider to the bottom, confirm and exit

    1. Navigation to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs, select and right-click on KeePassXC, select Properties>Security, add the current logged in username to the user, and set full control permissions
