Always on Top/Pin to Top doesn't work

Wanted to pin a note to top so I can interact with it easier.

No such option offered. Googled a how to do it and found this offical Guide from Microsoft: How to Pin a Window | Windows Learning Center (microsoft.com).

It shows the Hotkey being CTRL + F11 for the activation. This doesn't do anything though. I have tested with multiple deafult apps in case it's not compatible with the Notes app specifically, but it didn't do anything to any window I have tried it with.

You're welcome! I understand your frustration with the issue. I also don't have any third-party antivirus software, and I tried testing in a new PC user without success. I've already provided feedback directly to the Microsoft development team regarding this issue. You can check the screenshot I've attached for reference.

If you have any more questions or if there's anything else I can assist you with, feel free to let me know.

The thing is that - as you can see on the page I linked - Microsoft claims the feature already exists in the OS and offers PowerToys as an alterantive to it so it doesn't really match with what you're saying.

I don't see why should I have to be installing multiple applications to carry out basic tasks that are supposed to be already present in the OS itself.. there is also the issue that I will have to request permission for the install from the admin, like how it is with most companies, so Microsoft is just adding pointless strain to its users and making them jump through hoops rather than doing the job what we're paying them for

Hi there, I am John J.D., a fellow Microsoft user like you.

I always use the Always on Top feature, and I understand your frustration when it's not working. You can try using the PowerToys app from the Microsoft Store instead if the other methods didn't work for you.

You can download it from the Microsoft Store, the name is Microsoft PowerToys, or you can use this link: https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/XP89DCG...

Once you've completed the setup, you can now use the Always on Top feature by clicking the window you'd like to make always on top and pressing Windows + Ctrl + T on your keyboard.

Let me know how it goes.

I just marked it as it didn't solve the problem as obviously the function still doesn't work as expected, however I have given 5 stars since you've been helpful and tried to offer an alternative solution.

Unfortunately I don't believe the the feedback is doing anything as in the 5 weeks since I have been forced to use Windows again due to work machine I have come across 20-30 issues, lack of fetaures, bugs etc that go back to as far as 8 years and despite all the reports, feedback, suggestions and feature requests connected to each of them also going back years they still remain to be addressed..

    Thanks anyway

It's the same every single time. There's supposedly a feature in Windows, but it doesn't work. Inevitably end up in this useless place, and some "expert" apologizes and suggests a third-party app. It's all a scam.
