Windows 11 GTX 1060 driver not started

Hi, after a recent Windows update, my built-in GTX 1060 graphics card stopped working.

These are the symptoms I am experiencing:

  • HDMI not working
  • Nvidia Control Panel won't start
  • I get an error code 43 from time to time for the GTX card
  • Under events "device not started (BasicDisplay)"

I have updated the driver to the latest version through Nvidia Experience but to no avail.

Windows 11 is fully updated 23H2 Build OS Build 22631.3155

Any suggestions?

Regards

Jacob

    Reinstall Nvidia control panel from

NVIDIA Control Panel - Microsoft Apps

Check that Nvidia GPU is showing in bios.

    Hi ,

You will do the following and uninstall both Intel and Nvidia video drivers, even if they are not installed, but use DDU to remove the drivers completely.

Then install the drivers in the legacy version from the link below, then open Geforce experience and update the video driver through Nvidia alone.

    Driver VIdeo (NVIDIA): https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/i9...

    Driver Video (Intel): https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/i9...

    DDU: https://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/games/PC/guru3d/ddu/[Guru3D.com]-DDU.zip

Note: DDU is a third party application to completely erase the Audio driver and reinstall it.

Note: This is a non-Microsoft website. The page appears to provide accurate and secure information. Beware of ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before deciding to download and install it.

    1. After downloading, extract the ddu to a folder.
    2. Run the driver screen uninstaller.exe application, select the Model tab, put GPU.

After uninstalling the sound Driver Uninstall the for NVIDIA and Intel.

    1. Click on the second option clean and do not reboot and wait for the process to finish.

4 After the process finished in the DDU and install the new GPU driver and then restart the computer and do the test.

    Hope this helps.
