I recently signed into a laptop, and when I was done doing my thing, I logged out but forgot to remove my account on the device. I had suddenly become the admin of that computer. How do I remove my account on the device on my device?

    Hello, this is Emily.

Do you still have access to that computer? If so, go ahead and sign in. Then do the following:

Go to Settings > Accounts > Your info

Click on Sign in with local user instead. follow the steps and finish the rest.

(If you don't see the "sign in with a local account instead option, click on "Stop signing into Microsoft apps automatically" first, then relaunch this page. )

Restart the computer (Do Not skip)

That should remove your Micosoft account, and turn the Windows sign in user into a local user instead.

Unfortunately you won't be able to do it remotely.

Is there anyone else who needs to use that computer? You can remove the device from your Microsoft account https://account.live.com and go to Devices.. but that doesn't really remove your Microsoft account from that computer, rather, it removes it as a trusted device and it will not allow sign in unless you can provide the two-step code.. so if someone else needs to use that computer, they can be locked out.

What if I don't have access to this computer? Am I able to do something about it, or must I wait until I have access again?
