Windows 10 automatic repair loop

Anonymous
2024-02-18T01:06:30+00:00

Yesterday, i boot my pc and my cat randomly went through the window and pressed multiple keys including F9

which is the "recovery" button and when a cmd window appeared it asked me "continue? type Y or N" or something like that. so i pressed Y then enter, and the cmd window showed me numbers and letters and then i closed the window and restarted my computer through the power button and when the pc booted and the screen went blue with the words: "Automatic repair cannot fix this pc Log file: E:\recovery\windowsRE\Winre.wim\system32\logfiles\srt\srttrail.txt" i tried a lot of fixes online,

and not even one of them worked.

the cmd commands that i used to try to fix this issue were

bootrec /fixmbr which worked

bootrec /fixboot that said "access denied"

and i forgot the third one but i was something like "bootrec /rebuildbcd"

*sorry about the grammar, because my keyboard is glitchy.*

So please help me find a solution to this problem. Thank you

    Hi, WatdaDogDoin898

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Through your description, we understand that you have encountered system repair problems, we recommend that you try the following operations:

    1. Start your computer and follow the on-screen instructions to Advanced Boot Options.

Select Troubleshooting > Advanced Options > Startup Repair and let the system try to fix the startup problem automatically.

    1. System Repair. Click "Advanced Options", click "Troubleshooting", then click "Advanced Options", enter "Command Line Mode "In the command prompt, type sfc /scannow to scan for corrupted files, and DISM /Online/Cleanup-Image/RestoreHealth to repair your system.

3.Use MediaCreationTool to repair your system.

This will refresh your Windows files and operating system without deleting files or applications. However, we still recommend backing up your computer in advance if it contains important data.

Once you have completed your backup, follow the steps in the guide below:

    1. Visit the site below and click "Download Tool Now" (not "Update Now") to download Media Creation Tool.

    Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com) Run the MCT tool, select Upgrade this computer now, and select Keep files and applications.

Disclaimer: At this point, we have exhausted all troubleshooting and I recommend that we try to perform a clean install to get your computer back into a working condition. Please ensure that you backup any important data, including Documents, Pictures, Videos, and more. After that, you can find instructions on how to install Windows 10/11 in the following article by MVP Andre: How to: Perform a Custom Installation of Windows 11 and Windows 10 - Microsoft Community

Hope the above methods are helpful to you!

    Sincerely

Nicholas | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
