Ethernet does not work with docking station (Windows 10 Pro, Dell Precision 5510)

I recently got a new router and when I plug my ethernet cable into my docking station, it doesn't connect like it used to. When I connect my ethernet directly via my USB-C adapter, it works.

I followed the Ethernet connection troubleshooting steps here - making sure that my ethernet cable is secured, restarting my modem and router (which I don't think is the issue, since my Apple TV is connecting just fine. I'm seeing flashing lights in my ethernet port there, but not for the cord connected to my computer), checking network status, running the network commands they suggested. I have not re-installed my ethernet network adapter - a quick google search is telling me that my adapter should have an exclamation mark in the name, but I don't have that. I have not done a network reset either.

My issue is that my laptop (a Dell Precision 5510) only has one USB-C adapter, and my docking station uses that one, instead of the ethernet adapter. I can go out and purchase a USB 3.0 ethernet adapter, but I'd prefer to exhaust options here first.

Here is a screenshot of the network adapters in my laptop - my ethernet was not connected when I took this photo:

UPDATE: Got it to work. I had an ethernet-to-USB-C adapter already, so I just plugged it into my docking station, and it's working. The native ethernet port is the one with issues.

    Hi ,

As I said, there is no explanation for the Network Driver not appearing again, the only explanation would be driver incompatibility.

You can try reinstalling Windows via ISO while keeping the files and programs and see if the system recognizes the driver again.

You can always count on the Microsoft community to have a good weekend.

    Hi ,

Right, from what I see the docking station and the input you are using would be Intel's Thundebolt, we will initially reinstall the chipset drivers along with the Intel Thunderbolt controller.

    Install the drivers in sequence.

What is the Docking Station model?
