Hello Jonathan Jonathan2,
Welcome to the Microsoft Community.
I understand that your HP laptop freezes and standard methods fail to resolve the issue .
Below are several solutions to help you resolve this problem:
- Force Restart:
Hold down the power button on your laptop for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely. Then, restart the laptop and see if the problem persists.
- Boot into Safe Mode:
Restart the laptop and press the F8 key to access the Advanced Boot Options menu. Choose Safe Mode. If you can successfully boot into Safe Mode, you may need to uninstall recently installed software or drivers.
- Update Drivers:
Try updating graphics drivers and other essential drivers. Open Device Manager, right-click on the relevant device, and select "Update driver."
- System Restore:
If you've made recent changes to the system, try using System Restore to revert to a previous working state. Boot into Safe Mode, open System Restore, and follow the prompts.
- Perform a System Reset:
If none of the above methods work, consider performing a system reset or reinstalling Windows. Remember to back up important files before proceeding.
Disclaimer: At this point, we have exhausted all troubleshooting and I recommend that we try to perform a clean install to get your computer back into a working condition. Please ensure that you backup any important data, including Documents, Pictures, Videos, and more.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem. Contact HP support for further diagnosis and repair may be a propriate way to solve this problem successfully.
