Windows Defender Offline asking for BitLocker Key

I just had a virus which was successfully detected. Now I wanted to do an offline scan and it is asking for my Bitlocker-Recovery-Key. I can’t find any information that Windows Defender Offline needs the Bitlocker-Recovery-Key.

How should I proceed? Should I put the Recovery-Key in?

    Hello,

So Bitlocker is needed to open the system? Won't data be recovered or lost when it is entered?

Thank you for your reply and understanding.

    Sincerely, Pavel Hoffman

    Hello,

Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting to the community.

Did you set up BitLocker yourself before?

If you have enabled BitLocker by yourself and have the recovery key, since Windows Defender Offline makes your computer boot in a "non-regular" way, the system will not automatically unlock it. You can safely input the recovery key there. Once the scan finishes and you boot into the system normally, it should not ask for the key anymore.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.
