Why isnt the Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU 2.80GHz added to approved CPUs for Windows 11? It definitely meets the specifications. Can I get instructions for putting windows 11 on my Core i7 laptop? I have read it will work.

Windows for home | Windows 11 | Windows update

Actually It does support TPM 2.0 and that is the version in device manager, yet Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU 2.80GHz.

My old Acer Predator Helios 300 has TPM 2.0 . It runs the i7 7700hq the problem is that in addition to TPM 2.0 it must also meet several other requirements to ensure the security of all laptops running Windows 11 one of which is VBS. I do feel you on the not being included in updates front however you shouldn't feel like you need to update to Windows 11 on an i7 7700hq. They got a lot right with Windows 10 and there's a lot about it I like better than Windows 11. You still won't have ai features if you upgrade to Windows 11 so I feel like the gains are minimal if they exist at all. I used the work around for fun but I don't feel like it improved this laptop in any way and it took away some of the things I loved about Windows 10.

My old Acer Predator Helios 300 has TPM 2.0 . It runs the i7 7700hq the problem is that in addition to TPM 2.0 it must also have VBS to isolate computer processes from the OS and hardware, and separate then from each other.

That being said I ended up using the work around just so I could give it to a little kid who lives next door to me with windows 11 installed. That laptop is like 7 years old now and he still plays games on it pretty regularly. That laptop doesn't owe anyone anything.

Hello, I'm A&K, here to help.

Windows 11 is no longer going to add support for any older hardware.

Regarding your mention that the i7-7700HQ definitely meets the specifications, it does not. The platform does not support TPM 2.0.

But you can refer to this article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/way... in the "Other ways to install Windows 11" to bypass the Windows 11 hardware requirements. However, I don't recommend it and if you decide to do so, please do it at your own risk.
