WIN + Shift + Left/right arrow shortcut does nothing.

WIN + SHIFT + left/right arrow used to move windows between monitors. I can't say for certain when it stopped working (memory issue) (my memory, not computer memory), but it's been at least a few weeks. Every other Win key shortcut I can think of works (WIN + R to run, WIN + up/down arrow to maximze/minimize, etc).

Every key works fine on its own/for other shortcuts, but WIN + SHIFT + left/right arrow doesn't do anything.

Windows Troubleshooter and SFC found nothing, i don't have a group policy, there's no registry entry about it. Gaming keyboard options are disabled, drivers are updated, Windows is up to date.

Hello, I had the exact same issue and managed to solve it.

What worked for me was to turn on the "Snap windows" setting.

    How to get there:

    1. Go to "Settings" by pressing WIN + I.
    2. Navigate to "System" > "Multitasking."
    3. Turn on the "Snap windows" setting

The previously not working shorcuts started to work again right after. No restart needed.

    I'm using Windows 11.

I hope someone finds this helpful!

Why are these settings still tied together? There is no reason you shouldn't be able to use WIN + Shift + Left/Right arrows. Forcing people to use snap settings just to have basic pre-existing keyboard shortcuts is ridiculous. There are questions on here about this and people stating the same thing going back for years and all have the same answers, suggestions, and dodgy attempts to avoid acknowledging the shortcuts are tied to the snap settings.

So annoying! I hate the snap feature, and the WIN + Shift + Arrow hotkey won't work without it 🥲

I could kiss you on the mouth. Thank you

But seriously why on God's green earth is this feature linked with Snap windows???? What purpose does that possibly serve? The Snap windows bar appearing at the top of my screen every time I threaten to move a window is the bane of my existence, the fact that disabling it removes my ability to Win+Shift+Left or Right is a kick in both gonads.

Microsoft, sort this out. Ludicrous doesn't even begin to cover it.

Very annoying I agree, but if you disable all of the options below Snap Windows (when I snap a window, automatically resize to fill available space, etc) then all or at least most of the annoying behaviour of snap windows goes away!!!! And windows shift right or left arrow still works.

    Hooray.
