New Cross Device Experience Host won't install for me...stuck on pending

There's an apparently new feature that is being rolled out by microsoft. It is a new way to connect to your phone. I can not get it to install even though the option is available on my pc. I've contacted microsoft support and instead of solving the problem, they told me to seek help from here.

I am on an MSI GE68 HX 13V. I am running Windows 11 Pro. If you navigate to the settings app, then to bluetooth & devices, then to mobile devices, you should see a new option available directly above the option to turn phone link on. I can turn the option on. When I do it tells me it has to install cross device experience host but then nothing happens and it simply says pending under the on switch. Please see screenshots.

I'm hoping someone out there can help me because Microsoft failed 3 times today.

    I am having the same issue. I tried to install using the command prompt and am getting this error.

    Failed to install or upgrade Microsoft Store package. Error code: 0x80073d21

    See if installing it through winget helps.

    In the Windows search,

    type cmd, right-click it, and choose run as administrator.

    execute

    winget install 9NTXGKQ8P7N0

    Press yes when prompted and let me know.

    This process worked great for me, but just a note: Initial system install failed due to Error Code: 0x80004004. Research showed it was likely due to Defender definitions not fully updated. Solution was to temporarily turn off other anti-virus, which caused Defender to immediately update. After inputting command above a second time, install worked perfectly, and I got past issue in settings. Thanks Much!!

    Hello, have you found a solution to this fix? Microsoft has left us in the dirt here as no one else from support has replied yet. I’m really considering switching to linux because I really can’t update any of my applications because of this issue. This includes spotify, Minecraft windows 10/11 edition etc.

    (Update):

    It seems that I'm going to be sticking with windows for a little longer as the issue has resolved itself when I updated to 23H2,maybe this was just an issue caused by microsoft? Well I'm grateful and I can continue with my work as normal now.

    same issue here with German Windows Insider (23 H2, 22635.3350)>

    No available upgrade found.

    No newer package versions are available from the configured sources.

    Then I found an update of Cross-Device Host in Windows Store, now it works :-)
