    Hello

There is a high probability that the USB device has insufficient power supply. First, I need to confirm whether your computer is a laptop or a desktop?

If it is a laptop, the problem of insufficient USB power supply may be difficult to solve because the laptop's USB port has limited power supply capabilities. In this case, you can try using an external powered USB docking station to increase power supply capacity.

If you are using a desktop computer, you can try connecting USB devices to the front and rear ports of the chassis. Usually, there will be 1-2 USB 2.0 interfaces on the front of the chassis, and a USB 3.0 interface on the back. Doing this can help you determine if there is a problem with a specific USB port.

Additionally, it is recommended that you test each USB device one by one, connect each device individually and check if it is working properly. Then gradually increase the number of devices until the problem is discovered. This can help you determine exactly which device or USB port is causing the power outage issue. This method can effectively help you diagnose and solve the problem of insufficient USB power supply.

We look forward to hearing back from you.

    Best Regards

    Hello nothing to see here_1

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

It sounds like your computer might be experiencing power distribution issues with its USB ports. This can happen if the total power draw of the connected devices exceeds the power supply capacity of the USB ports. Here's what you can do to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

    1. Check Power Management Settings:
      1. Go to Device Manager (right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager").
      2. Expand the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section.
      3. Right-click on each USB Root Hub and USB controller, then select "Properties".
      4. Go to the "Power Management" tab and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
      5. Repeat for each USB Root Hub and controller listed.
    2. Test USB Ports and Devices:
      1. Try plugging the devices into different USB ports to see if the issue persists. This can help identify if the problem is with a specific port.
      2. Test each device individually to ensure they are all functioning correctly.
    3. Use a Powered USB Hub: If the power draw of the devices is too high for the computer's USB ports, using a powered USB hub can help. The hub will supply the necessary power to the devices, reducing the load on the computer’s USB ports.
    4. Check for Hardware Issues: Since you mentioned that one of the USB 2.0 ports is dead, it's possible there could be a hardware issue affecting the USB power supply. Inspecting the motherboard for any visible damage or consulting a professional for a hardware diagnostic might be necessary.
    5. Update BIOS and USB Drivers: Ensure your BIOS and USB controller drivers are up to date. An update may resolve power management or compatibility issues.
    6. Monitor Power Consumption: If possible, monitor the power consumption of the USB devices to ensure it does not exceed the capacity of the USB ports. Some devices draw more power than others, and having multiple high-power devices connected simultaneously can cause issues.

If there is anything not clear or I can't understand your problem, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards
