My touchpad is stuck, how can I fix it without taking the back off?

My touchpad is stuck, and I took the 4 screws out on the back, but it didn’t do anything. The touchpad seems to be stuck under the cover on the side farthest from the screen and keyboard, and stuck pressed in on the side closest to the screen and keyboard. Would I have to take the whole laptop apart to fix the touchpad or would I just have to use a mouse permanently? The touchpad somewhat works, but when I went to turn off the laptop, it would let the options to shut down, restart, etc. stay, and they would come up and go away. When clicking on windows in the taskbar, it does a double click, and I have to click the app multiple times for it to drop (it drags the app wherever the pointer is moving). It takes multiple clicks to even get anything to open or go to what I want (I had to click the windows icon at least five times)

What are my options to solve this? It’s not a performance issue, since it’s not digital, it’s the touchpad itself that is damaged

    Hello, Triston Russell.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Based on the description, it seems like your touchpad might be damaged.

For physical damage, I recommend contacting a professional for disassembly and repair.

Additionally, I have some suggestions that might serve as a temporary solution (to prevent the touchpad from interfering with computer use).

In Windows Settings -> Bluetooth & other devices -> Touchpad,

you can turn off the touchpad or uncheck the option to keep the touchpad on when a mouse is connected (this option might be hidden next to the switch).

Moreover, laptops usually have a shortcut key to disable the touchpad, you might want to try that.

If there are any updates, please feel free to reply.

    Best regards.
