you can change the icon for PDF files in Windows 11. Here’s how you can do it:
- Download a New Icon: First, you need an icon file (.ico) that you want to use for your PDF files. You can download one from the internet or create your own.
- Open File Explorer: Navigate to any PDF file on your computer.
- Change the Default Program (if necessary):
- If you want the icon change to affect only PDFs opened by a specific program, make sure that program is set as the default for opening PDFs.
- Right-click on a PDF file, select
Open with>Choose another app, select the desired application, and check the box that saysAlways use this app to open .pdf files.
- Access the Properties: Right-click on a PDF file and select
Properties. - Change the Icon:
- In the
Propertieswindow, go to theShortcuttab. (If there's noShortcuttab, this method won’t work, and you might need to change the icon through the default program’s settings or use a third-party file association manager.) - Click on
Change Icon, browse to the location of your new icon file, select it, and clickOK.
- In the
- You can change the icon of the application that opens the PDF to see if the PDF icon changes.
- There are some third-party software that can change the icon. You can try using third-party software.
