Windows 11 Bluetooth pairing issues - headphones won't connect if my mouse is connected

I have a Dell Inspiron and whenever my bluetooth mouse is connected, my headphones automatically disconnect from my computer. Everything I've found wants me to make sure everything is updated, but I was having issues with my touchpad today and I ended up having to uninstall an update from yesterday in order for it to work again, so I want to avoid reinstalling the newest update. I'd love any help I can get. Thanks!

    Hello Bethany_13

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

It sounds like you're facing a Bluetooth device conflict on your Dell Inspiron laptop, where your headphones disconnect when your Bluetooth mouse is connected. This issue could be related to Bluetooth resource management or interference between devices. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem without reinstalling the latest update:

    1. I understand that you are using a DELL laptop. Regarding DELL notebooks, DELL officially provides SupportAssist. You can download it and update all your drivers. There is also a fault repair function on it. SupportAssist for Home PCs | Dell USA Disclaimer: This is a non-Microsoft website. The page appears to be providing accurate and safe information. 2. Change Bluetooth Connection Settings:
      1. Press "Win+Q", search and open "Settings". Navigate to: Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Devices.
      2. Click on More Bluetooth options.
      3. In the Options tab, check the box for "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this PC" and uncheck "Alert me when a new Bluetooth device wants to connect."
    3. Adjust Power Management Settings:
      1. Press "Win+Q", search and open "Device Manager".
      2. In Device Manager, under Bluetooth, right-click on your Bluetooth adapter and select Properties.
      3. Go to the Power Management tab and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
    4. Remove and Re-pair Devices:
      1. Remove both the mouse and headphones from Bluetooth & other devices in Settings.
      2. Restart your computer.
      3. Pair the headphones first, then the mouse, to see if the issue persists.

If there is anything not clear or I can't understand your problem, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards
