Rest assured, it is safe to delete that ESD folder, it is not required, many people think it is for the Windows recovery environment, but it is not, you can safely delete that folder.
Can I delete the esd folder
so there is an near 5 gb folder called the Esd its directory is C:\ESD\Windows and it just basically looks like an windows installation folder and i could really use that 5 gb so can i delete it? and im not using windows insider etc etc

That C:\ESD folder is basically a disk image of the Windows installation media
Did you ever clean install Windows or use a Windows ISO to upgrade or repair your Windows installation?
