ImageHello. I have just set up the HP Deskjet F4180 printer on Windows 11 Pro. The drivers are automatically installed but you do need to go through a few hoops first to download and install them. Note: the HP website offers no support and won't help you.

Here's how I managed to get my printer working:

    1. Set up the printer and turn on (green power light on).
    2. Plug the printer cable into a USB slot on your laptop.
    3. This step may not be needed but adding anyway. Click the Windows key and type "Printers" - click the "Printers & Scanners / System Settings" link. You may see the "HP Deskjet F4100 Series" as a printer option but it will have a box stating "No drivers installed" or similar. If "HP Deskjet F4100 Series" isn't showing the blue click "Add device" on this page. You'll get a notification that the printer CANNOT be found. Don't worry.
    4. The next step is to click Windows key and search for "Check for updates". Click the link that has "Check for updates / Systems Settings". You'll be taken to the "Windows Update" page.
    5. You must ensure that your laptop is fully updated with all currently available updates from Microsoft. If options are showing to download and install updates, ensure you update all available. Your laptop may automatically have to restart to install the updates.
    6. If you had to restart, revisit the "Windows Update" page (see Step 4 above) and click "Check for Updates". Install any additional updates from Microsoft and restart if necessary. Note: if you have not updated your laptop in a while, the downloading and installing of the updates can take 15-30 minutes )or longer) - be patient - go have a nice cup of tea.
    7. Repeat Step 4 once again but now go to "Advanced Options" and halfway down the page see the section titled "Additional Options". In this section click "Optional updates".
    8. On the new page you will see some downloads (click the downward arrows to open dialogue boxes). You will see available options for the HP Printer Driver (click the checkboxes on all that reference HP drivers) and then download and install these.
    9. Restart your laptop. Ensure you are connected to the printer.
    10. Happy days your legacy HP Deskjet F4180 printer is now recognised and you can send print jobs to it.

To check that the printer is now recognised you can click the Windows key, type "Printers" click the "Printers & Scanners / System Settings" link and on the new page you will see "HP Deskjet F4100 Series". You can make this printer the default printer by clicking the right-pointing arrow and selecting "Set as default" on the next page.

If this doesn't help HP printer setup (Windows built-in driver) | HP® Support it may be time to buy a new printer. When a company stops support and no longer makes drivers available you can only use windows built-in options.

Don't know if this may help HP Deskjet F4180 Printer Driver - Microsoft Community

HP driver seemed to be supported for Windows 8.1 but nothing newer than that.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

HP no longer provide drivers for that model of printer and there are no built-in drivers in Windows 11 for that model either, the only hope you may have is to install the HP Smart App from the Store to see if that can get that printer working.
